Blancpain timepieces never cease to amaze, as a brand they are the oldest brand in the world that is in continuous production and today we are looking at the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronograph Flyback. 

Let us begin with a little history being the Fifty Fathoms range. The collection embodies Blancpain's passion for the marine world and was introduced for the first time in 1953, with the creation of the first modern diver's watch. A Fifty Fathoms must be one of the most iconic Blancpain models and it is clear to see why. 

This model for example: at a glance, there are a couple of features that instantly stand out. One being the green sunray dial that glistens perfectly in the light, and secondly the general sporty classic yet timeless feel. To achieve such a look and feel, Blancpain have used matte black ceramic and have equipped the dial with several features that add extra functionality.  

The movement is packed with hour, minute, small seconds, and date features as well as a Flyback Chronograph function, we know wow. The dimensions of this model come in at 43.6mm in diameter with a 15.25mm thick case. This model comes with sapphire crystal front and the underbelly, adding to this, it has a whopping 300 metre water resistance and contains Super LumiNova for extra readability. Oh, and it also has a green ceramic unidirectional bezel now we all know what you are thinking how on earth has Blancpain managed to fit this all into one model? Quite frankly, it is incredible craftsmanship! 

Turning this model over to the expedition case window, we are dazzled by the manufacture Calibre F385 movement. Attracting attention with its 5Hz high operating frequency, the 37 jewels automatic movement provides 50 hours of power reserve when fully wound and sports an iconic 18ct gold rotor. Just look at the movement this is fine watchmaking at its finest.   

To summarise, Blancpain has added to the legend and has somehow managed to perfect an already perfect model. The craftsmanship and watchmaking that has gone into this model is jaw dropping and it deserves its own place in the history books.
