- 30 Jun 2021
Hamilton they know how to make a great timepiece; they say every wristwatch tells a story. Watches become momentous, they are taken along on the adventures and turning points of those who wear them. Today we are looking at the military-inspired Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze model, an exclusive to Chisholm Hunter.
Let us start from the beginning, founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Hamilton watches combine the American spirit with the unrivalled precision of the latest Swiss movements and technologies. Faithful to the spirit and style of the countless watches made for the U.S., British and other military forces from the 1940's onwards, the iconic design and uncompromising quality and discrete wear-ability have made the Khaki Field models a firm favourite with collectors and enthusiasts around the world.

Now we have touched a little on the history, let us get more into the specs of this luxury watch legend. The case measures in at 38mm in diameter and around 9.60mm in thickness. This has a lightweight feel, with a natural look yet still makes a statement, with the bronze blending beautifully with the brown calf leather strap. Made from bronze, the case features a titanium case back while also sporting a highly resistant sapphire crystal glass. One of this models' most unique features is, over weeks and months of wear, oxidation causes the bronze to slowly change, generating a textured patina that evolves uniquely for each piece.

The dial is one of our favourite and most striking features about this model. A white dial shines bright and stands out bold against the black face. The hands are nickelled with Super-LumiNova® white lacquered second hands. In multiple types of light, this watch is very quick and easy to read.
Behind the titanium case-back there is the H-50 movement, exclusively developed by Hamilton for their hand-wound timepieces, that powers this Khaki Field model with military precision. The extended power reserve of 80 hours means that this watch will keep running for over three days when fully wound.

Overall, this is an incredible piece and combines durability, quality, and elegance. What do you think?
