With a passion for rugby built on sibling rivalry, Duhan van der Merwe, has dedicated his life to becoming a legendary player. Leaving behind his life in George, South Africa, Merwe worked his way to becoming one of the United Rugby Championship club Edinburgh's most incredible wingers. 

Having had multiple surgeries on both knees, and his hip by the young age of 19, Duhhan Merwe proves time and time again that when you have a goal, the only option is to score.

In 2021, Breitling was named the Official Timekeepers of the Six Nations Rugby League. Measuring every moment and ensuring that we never miss a pass, tackle, or scrumage.  

As long time sponsors of the sport, Breitling began their “Squad Members” and in 2022 welcomed South African winger, Duhan van der Merwe to the club. After an incredible play by stepping four defenders during the Round 1 Calcutta Cup and scoring an unforgettable try, it is clear the Merwe is a force to be reckoned with.  

As part of the Breitling “Squad Members” Merwe is rarely seen without a sleek Breitling watch on his wrist. Unless he’s facing off the opposing team,. Even the official timekeepers deigned not to wear a watch in the 2023 Six Nations.
