International Women's Day

An event that has been celebrated since the early 1900's, International Women's Day (IWD) is a worldwide event. A celebration that falls on March 8th each year, commemorating the achievements of women worldwide.

Each year, the International Women's Day campaign selects a different theme and this year the chosen theme is #ChooseToChallenge, with the idea that individually we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions. The campaign believes, "We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.'

This year, people are being asked by the campaign to "raise your hand high" to show your support.
