When it comes to historic icons in the luxury watch industry, Longines instantly springs to mind. Not only do they have a heritage stretching back to 1832, but their values of elegance and performance live within every timepiece they craft. Today, we will be looking at the iconic Longines Hydroconquest L3.781.4.76.6.
So, let us start from the beginning: founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier, the famous Swis brand Longies boasts a long tradition characterised by the elegance and performance of their outstanding products. These values are perfectly represented by the brands Sport Collection. The Hydroconquest lines are dedicated to men and women looking for a high-performance timepiece that combines technical innovation and elegance.
Now, lets take a closer timepiece look at the timepiece itself. Starting with the dial, we can instantly see the incredible polished silvered hands and applied Arabic numerals and indexes. This detailing plays wonderfully against the sunray grey dial, which seems to play with the light. Below the 12 o'clock marker, we can see the well renowned Longines winged hourglass logo; registered in 1889, this is the oldest and unchanged yet still active registered trademark of its kind. The glass consists of highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal, topped with several layers of anti-reflective coating which allows us to perfectly encapsulate the beauty of this piece, and makes it highly durable to wear and tear.
The case measured in at 41mm in diameter, allowing this piece to have a strong wrist presence. The lug-to-lug measurements come in at 21mm, and the thickness measures 11.9mm. The sporty feel of this watch is kept consistent with the use of a screw down crown to maximise the water resistance and, amazingly, this timepiece can reach depths of up to 300 metres.

Inside this watch, we have the Calibre L888 movement, a self-winding mechanical movement that beats at 25'200 vibrations per hour. This movement was developed exclusively for Longines and allows a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. This sports model comes presented on a polished stainless-steel bracelet and with this particular model, you get a 2 year manufacturer warranty, which is a statement to the watch's quality in itself.
Overall, this is an incredible model by Longines that really combines durability with elegance. What do you think?
