Discover the TUDOR Black Bay 58 925 M7901SG-0001

In our last TUDOR watch review, we were mesmerised by the new TUDOR Black Bay Chrono; however, we missed something important, something that deserves its place in the luxury watch hall of fame. The striking Black Bay 58 925.  

Let us begin with the details, the TUDOR Black Bay 58 925 much to our relief retains the iconic 39mm case diameter and for good reason. This size has become a real draw for TUDOR fans across the globe and it fits perfectly on the wrist. This timepiece is so versatile in that it can be worn with a suit or with more casual attire. The new Black Bay 58 925 is slightly thicker than its predecessor coming in at 12.7mm in thickness instead of 11.9mm. As usual, this model gives you piece of mind with a 200-metre water resistance, and for the first time has an open case back to highlight the in-house movement. The case is made entirely from 925 sterling silver, which gives it a really fantastic weight and of course, its name.  

Looking at the general aesthetic of this model, it sports the same tapered bevels on the lugs that we have grown to love over the years, giving it that vintage sporty feel. Again, to our relief, it still features the iconic snowflake hands originally presented in 1969 with white metal hands and circular frames for the hour markers. The new taupe dial contrasts wonderfully against the silver indices and helps make the dial easy to read.  

And finally, the bit you have all been waiting for, the beautiful movement visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The movement featured is the TUDOR Manufacture Calibre MT5400, a certified movement that is better than its COSC certification for its unrivalled reliability and accuracy. This movement regulates at -2/+4 seconds a day and has an approximate 70-hour power reserve. Now that is TUDOR at its finest.  

Overall, TUDOR has created an incredibly innovative model whilst not forgetting its rich history. In short, well done TUDOR, you have nailed it.
