While the festivities continue and the mystery of Watches and Wonders opens their doors to the public, the unveiling of new, luxury watches has come to a close. And with that, I get to share my, and Max’s, favourite pieces from the watch event of the year. Below, I have narrowed it down to 6 of our favourite timepieces that scream luxury and sophistication:
The 1970’s marks a crazy time for watchmaking brands. As the Quartz crisis roared on and the wave of automatic movements takes over, many brands failed to prevail. Raymond Weil, however, took tragedy by the horns and began their journey right in the middle of a watch economic downfall. Today, almost 50 years later, Raymod Weil unveils their newest creations to a world of watch connoisseurs at Watches and Wonders, Geneva, 2024.
Before the industrial revolution, watchmakers were proud and protective of their artisanry ability to handcraft intricate timepieces that transformed the world one tick at a time. That was, until Zenith opened their first workshop in 1865 and revolutionised the manufacturing of luxury watches. Almost 2 centuries later, at Watches and Wonders 2024, Zenith unveiled their latest creations that once again, redefined the nature of horology.
Established in 1958, nestled in the heart of Villeret, Switzerland, Montblanc boasts a rich heritage in the realm of luxury timepieces. In homage to this opulent legacy, Montblanc introduced the 1858 collection—a line that embodies the pinnacle of horological craftsmanship.
At Watches and Wonders 2024, this collection is set to broaden its horizons even further. Bridging the gap between tradition and modernity, Montblanc continues to offer timeless elegance, and it’s my privilege to present this enduring legacy to you.
Starting as a small, village partnership, Oris quickly became a daring player within the world of horology. From aviation watches in the 1920’s to automatic movements in the 1950’s, Oris is no stranger to keeping things fresh and modern. Watches and Wonders 2024 saw the incredible release of the new Oris Aquis collections, and I have all the sweeping details.
