Our Exclusive Interview with Jim Hamilton
- 29 Nov 2020
We recently had the pleasure and honour of sitting down with Scottish rugby hero Jim Hamilton, in the comfort of our Chisholm Hunter suites in Edinburgh.
Talking about his career in rugby, Jim spoke to us about how he had progressed in his career; going from a young lad who went professional for Leicester at the young age of 17, to becoming the vice-captain for the Scottish Rugby team.
Jim shared with us his perspective on one of the toughest challenges he faced. At the age of 24, due to quite a complicated knee injury, Jim was out of the game for about a year. Being 6ft 8'', and a self-described power athlete', he admitted that he did find it quite tough to get back into the game but now knows that he became a better player for having overcome this obstacle.

Jim told us that his proudest moment was ironically his final game - playing in the European finals at BT Murryfield, Edinburgh as the Scottish rugby vice-captain. Despite only playing for about 2 minutes, it was in those moments he realised that he was retiring after that game.
He finished his career extremely proud of what he had achieved, with his family all supporting on that final match, and in Scotland - a place that he is proud to call home.
